I am Hirofumi Matsuo, Associate Director for the Cellusion Corporate Planning Department. I traveled to the U.S. from June 2 to 8 to exhibit for the first time at the Japan Pavilion (#4421) of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) at the BIO International Convention 2024, one of the world’s largest and most comprehensive event for biotechnology, representing the full ecosystem of biotech held from June 3 to 6 in San Diego, California, U.S.

In San Diego in early June, the morning and evening were a little chilly, but the daytime was comfortable in short sleeves, and the purple jacaranda flowers, which are designated as the official urban tree of the City of San Diego, were in full bloom.

The venue, the San Diego Convention Center is located near Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres, where Japanese baseball pitcher Yu Darvish plays.

There were 30 companies that participated in the JETRO booth set up to support overseas business, and Japanese companies and related ministries and agencies were there for business matching.

Cellusion booth was located on the corner of the main street side, so many visitors stopped by our booth and showed interest in our posters.
We had many discussions with those who were interested in Cellusion’s developments, and we strongly felt that we are committed to realizing a future in which our research contributes to patients around the world.
